What a first 12 months!

The story goes back to August 2023 when I was walking around the U.S. Amateur at Cherry Hills and struck up a conversation with a parent. Over the course of the 9 holes that I followed her son, she explained to me the whole landscape of junior golf rankings; the good, the bad, and the ugly. After I walked her through the success we were having with our TUGR Pro rankings, she looked at me and said:

“We need TUGR in junior golf.”

That’s where it began. From there, I called my partners and rehashed the conversation. We did a deep dive into the ecosystem and came up with a plan. We then spent the next 8 months building what is now our TUGR Junior platform and launched it one year ago, in March 2024. The rest, as they say, is history!

Year 1 - Report Card & Accomplishments

It’s been an amazing first year. Let’s tick through some of our accomplishments:

• TUGR Junior Rankings:

  • Quickly became one of the largest databases of junior golfers available. TUGR Junior ranks ~30% more tournaments than other rankings systems since we include 1-day, Amateur, USGA qualifiers, Monday qualifiers, and many other events not ranked by legacy systems.

  • Using an unbiased approach, TUGR continues to consistently be the most accurate and predictive system in junior golf.

• TUGR Analytics:

  • Bringing a turn-key, no manual input, modern tech solution for those looking to use pro-level analytics to improve their game. These analytics are available to the nearly 18,000 juniors ranked on our system.

• TUGR Recruiting:

  • Launched in August and quickly became the primary technology solution for college coaches recruiting efforts. TUGR Recruiting is used by teams across 23 different NCAA conferences with the SEC, Big 12 and Big 10 as our biggest users.

• Reach:

  • Over 4.2 million social media views in the last 12 months.

  • Conversations with coaches, parents, tour directors, and players weekly.

• Other Accolades:

  • Used by countless tours and invitationals as entry criteria, with a special shoutout to The Gator Invitational who was the first to exclusively use TUGR Junior Rankings as entry criteria.

  • Worked with the Korn Ferry Tour event, The Ascendant Presented by Blue, to host a qualifier that gave 1 junior golfer a sponsors exemption into this professional event (shoutout to Ole Miss recruit Finn Meister who won).

  • Guest speaker at the renowned Bobby Chapman Invitational (shoutout to the entire operating committee who run an incredible event).

  • College Coaches Convention Sponsor

  • Partnership with College Golf Experience (CGX - shoutout to Josh and his entire team who run an incredible operation).

We are grateful to be part of such a fun and competitive ecosystem. This first year has been amazing and we have great ambitions for Year 2 as we continue to grow the platform, reach, and influence. We speak with parents, players, and coaches on a weekly basis to make sure the various platforms are customized to your liking.
